The Bob Himmelberger Trio with David Kingsnorth & Matt Kane

Pianist Bob Himmelberger has been playing for over 45 years, everything from big bands to small groups and solo engagements. During that time he’s had the pleasure of working with Nelson Riddle as well as the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Bob has also worked with jazz greats Charlie Rouse, Brian Torff, Victor Jones, Jimmy Ponder, Josh Breakstone, Bob Moses, Steve La Spina and Vic Juris to name a few.  Bob also has two recordings in his own name, “Where Do We Go From Here?” and his most recent “Legacy”. Mr. Himmelberger is currently teaching jazz piano at Newark Academy in Livingston NJ.  

 

Bassist David Kingsnorth has performed with the John Abercrombie/Rob Scheps Quartet, Eliot Zigmund, Joshua Breakstone, Oscar Brown Jr., Richard Wyands, Frank Jackson, the New Jersey Ballet, and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea.  He is originally from California, where he studied with John Clayton and received degrees in math and music from the University of California, Berkeley.  He also received a master’s degree in classical performance from Montclair State University, where he studied with Linda McKnight.

 

Originally from Hannibal, Missouri, Matt Kane went on to forge a career in NYC playing a wide and diverse palette of music, he has performed and recorded with vocalists Sasha Dobson, Norah Jones, and Lezlie Harrison, bassist Steve LaSpina, guitarists  Vic Juris and Dave Stryker, legendary vibraphonist Roy Ayers, bassist Santi Debriano, Brazilian musicians Helio Alvez, Sergio Brandao, Nilson Matta and Nanny Assis.  In 2010 Matt joined Steve LaSpina’s new quartet which recorded a CD for SteepleChase Records, Kane’s 2013 CD “Suit-Up!” was named in the top 50 CDs of the year by JazzTimes magazine and featured on WBGO, NPR and XM Radio. Matt also released “The Other Side of the Story” in 2013 and “Song Poems” in 2023.

No music charge, $25 food & drink minimum for two sets beginning at 7:00. Reservations strongly recommended.
