Alberto Pibiri & Miriam Waks

Husband-wife duo Alberto Pibiri (piano) and Miriam Waks (voice) celebrate the release of their first album CDrelease "So Many Stars" with this intimate live performance. Presenting a selection of songs from the album, including delicately rendered Italian classics, swinging standards, hard-hitting blues numbers, and of course, love s ongs, join them for a very special night of world-class music and stories.

Miriam Waks Prose Now based in New York City, Miriam Waks made her performing debut at the tender age of 10 singing solo at the Sydney Opera House. The years since have seen her develop into a diverse and vibrant performer who sings in 17 languages and a vast range of musical styles. She has performed at venues and residencies across the globe including New York, France, Cuba, Brussels, Edinburgh, London, India, Macau, & Hong Kong. 2018 saw Miriam release her first originals album, Tales from a Room. Recorded in Nashville and New York, Tales from a Room received radio airplay across USA and Canada.  Miriam performed a full season as featured vocalist and MC with Cuban modern dance company Danza Del Caribe (Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015).  Miriam has several original music projects including comedic alter-ego Mimi LaRue, and experimental music duo Metabards whose debut EP was described by the Huffington Post as "Full of mystique, potent soundscapes, and.. profound lyricism, (they) have tapped into a sonic spirituality that travels beyond the confines of stereotypical electronic music." 


Alberto Pibiri Bio is an Italian jazz pianist and composer based in New York. He formed his experience between Italy and France studying classical and jazz music. During his studies, he became attracted by the music of Oscar Peterson whose records became the reference and example for Alberto. In the early years, Alberto performed many concerts and festivals with his trio featuring Oscar Peterson's music and Alberto's creativity including Sun Set Subside, Duc Des Lombards (France), Calagonone Jazz Festival, Time in Jazz, Orsara Jazz Festival (Italy). In France, he started to collaborate with Sheila Jordan during her workshop and she became his main mentor and a dear friend. In New York, he has worked with many illustrious jazz musicians such as Dave Stryker, Sheila Jordan, Harry Allen, Essiet Essiet, and Les DeMerle to tell a few. Alberto's first record NYC was produced by Dave Stryker (Strykezone records). The album has been presented in clubs such as Trumpets Jazz Club, Smalls, and Fat Cat and drew the attention of Monty Alexander who invited Alberto to play for the Monty Alexander Jazz Festival in Sep 2015. Winner of the Best Rhythm Section with Professor Cunningham and his old school at the World Jam in Madrid on October 2016. Alberto has performed at Carnegie Hall & Melbourne International Jazz Festival. His second album Jazz Legacy consists of 10 original songs with special guests like Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton, Miriam Waks, Dave Stryker,  and Adrian Cunningham. Jazz Legacy received rave reviews and airplay on jazz radio stations across the USA. His 3rd album Alberto Pibiri & the Al Peppers is an inspired tribute to Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass currently receiving airplay on jazz stations across the US.
