Linus Wyrsch Trio

Linus Wyrsch is a 2019 Grammy Award Winner for his work with Lucy Kalantary & the Jazz Cats. “Full of vigorous passion for jazz, Brazilian and Latin music, the Swiss native maintains a busy performance and recording schedule as a sideman and as a leader of his own groups. . . Linus brings a versatile yet distinctive quality” to every performance. He has lent his talents on the saxophones & clarinet to the likes of, Cesar Camargo Mariano as well as Oscar Castro-Neves (two originators of the Bossa Nova genre), noted film composers Alan Silvestri and Howard Shore, and several of the world’s top jazz and Latin musicians such as Bucky Pizzarelli, Andy McGhee, David Hazeltine, Gene Bertoncini, Hendrik Meurkens, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, the Gregorio Uribe Big Band, Harvie S, Clarence Penn, Grégoire Maret

Accompanying Linus this evening will be the fabulous bass of Martin Pizzarelli, who, is a mainstay here at Shanghai Jazz and has performed with his legendary father, Bucky Pizzarelli, his brother, John, as well as Larry Fuller, Ray Kennedy, Jerry Vivino and others.

Hyuna Park is an award-winning jazz pianist, whose “musical universe is both deeply connected to New York and its vibrant jazz tradition while at the same time embracing her Korean and classical roots." She was the 2018 winner of the International Women in Jazz (IWJ) festival as well as the Jimmy Heath Award. She has graced the stage with Grammy award-winners such as Linda Oh, Luis Bonilla, Michael Mossman and Vincent Herring and performed at notable venues like the Kennedy Center and the French Embassy in Washington D.C., the Dizzy Gillespie Auditorium, and at the UN as well as a number of Embassies and Cultural Centers throughout NYC.”
