Champian Fulton has been Downbeat’s Female Vocalist Rising Star 2014 and Hot House’s Female Vocalist of the Year 2017 along with myriad other accolades and awards throughout her career from publications like The New Yorker, The Village Voice, Time Out NY, The New York Times and many more! She has been playing at Shanghai Jazz for several years and we are thrilled she will be adding to our mid -week lineup along with her fabulous performances on the weekends with her quartet.

Accompanying Champian will be alto saxophonist, Nick Hempton. An accomplished musician, composer, bandleader touring the world and headlining most NYC jazz mainstays, Nick has performed with greats like, Roy Hargrove, Peter Bernstein, Harry Whitaker, Larry Willis, Jerry Weldon, Victor Lewis, Joe Magnarelli and many more.
