Abelita Mateus, a magnificent pianist, composer and vocalist with a masters in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University. Her latest release, Mixed Feelings is a tremendous sophomore effort and has received critical acclaim from Downbeat Magazine, NY City Jazz Record and many more. She is originally from Sao Paolo, Brazil, where she developed a deep love for Brazilian music and, eventually jazz. Her talents have placed her in bands with music legends like Claudio Roditi, John Lee, Vinicius Dorin, Raul de Souza and she is pianist for the Dizzy Gillespie Afro-Cuban Experience.
