Rossanno Sportiello's "The Art of Piano Improvisation"

Rosanno Sportiello, at 16, he began “performing professionally at jazz venues in the Milan area, and in 1992, he joined one of Europe’s historic jazz bands, the “Milano Jazz Gang” touring with the group throughout Italy and West Europe until the end of 2000. That same year, Rossano met legendary jazz pianist and educator, Barry Harris, who became a mentor and good friend. Mr. Harris has touted Rossano as ‘the best stride piano player’ he has ever heard.”

Rosanno plays here regularly with Nicki Parrott and Harry Allen. On this Thursday, he is bringing some special guests as a surprise. Rossano, as the title of the evening tells us, will celebrate improvisation with the piano, “from Stride to Bebop through the American Songbook.” We cannot think of anyone who better to put such a program together! This promises to be an outstanding night of music—not to be missed!

No music charge, $25 food & drink minimum. Reservations required.
