Winard Harper is a true virtuoso on the drums and one of the preeminent percussionists in music today. With a deep rooted passion for the beats, he began playing at 5 years old and has since been one of the most in-demand drummers in jazz, not to mention one of the genres’ greatest advocates! His passion and talent for jazz drumming has led him to play with greats like Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, and Ray Bryant to name a few. He founded the Harper Brothers Sextet with his brother and their second release, Remembrance, went all the way to #1 on Billboard’s Jazz Chart in 1991.
