Claudio Roditi Legacy Quartet

The Claudio Roditi Legacy Quartet serves to continue the legacy of the late, great trumpeter Claudio Roditi. Claudio’s legacy is as both a trumpeter and composer, where he established himself as a transformative voice in blending his traditional music of Brazil with the Jazz tradition. All the music performed by the quartet are his originals or music that was a part of his standard repertoire.

The Claudio Roditi Legacy Quartet features the trio Claudio last performed with at Shanghai Jazz-Tomoko Ohno on piano, Marcus McLaurine on bass, and Samuel Martinelli on drums. Joining them is trumpeter Nathan Eklund, a long-time friend and student of Claudio’s over the past many years.
