Critically acclaimed bassist/composer Mark Wade returns to Shanghai Jazz for another performance with his dynamic trio. A five-time finalist for bassist of the year in teh prestigious Downbeat Magazine Readers Poll, Wade has been described as “one of the preeminent musicians of his generation” by UK Vibe Magazine. He gained international recognition for his trio with the 2015 recording Event Horizon on Edition 46 Records and the 2018 follow up Moving Day on AMP Music & Records. In 2020 he launched a unique solo project entitled Songs From Isolation - a visual album which debuted online from the Center for Jazz and Popular Music in Durban, South Africa. His 2022 release, True Stories was hailed as “a living work of modern art” by Downbeat Magazine.
