Come celebrate the life of the great legendary NJ jazz singer, Bill Robinson. The club will be open as usual, but dedicated to Bill and the Great American Song Book classics he sang so beautifully.
The Star-Ledger described Bill’s voice as “gleaming” and “lustrous" with a "sure sense of swing”!
Performing Bill’s song book this night are Jan Findlay, John Zweig and Rick Crane. Guest performers
will include John Carlini, Rob Paparozzi, Dan Crisci and more.
Bill performed through his 80’s at Shanghai Jazz, Rod's Steakhouse, High Lawn Pavilion and Cent’ Anni’s with jazz guitarists John Zweig and John Carlini, jazz pianist Betty Liste, mandolinist Don Stiernberg, bassists Brian Glassman, Rusty Holloway, Rick Crane, drummer Steve Holloway and many others.
Years back, Bill opened for comedian Jackie Mason in New York and for vibraphonist Lionel Hampton. He was highly influenced by great singers such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and Cab Calloway.
