t’s become an annual tradition: One of Shanghai Jazz’s favorite combos, playing new arrangements of Christmas classics! Join us for an evening of swinging holiday sounds featuring some of New Jersey’s best musicians.
Bud Ayres (bass), Steve Hess (drums), Josh Rubin (guitar) and Mark Weber (piano) have been regulars at Shanghai Jazz for over a decade — but once a year, they put aside their regular book of tunes and groove on songs for the season. Christmas carols, Vince Guaraldi, The Nutcracker, Motown, and even a little Elvis: this show has something for everyone to get into the Christmas spirit! Start your yuletide season right and join us, but make your reservations soon: last year’s show was a packed house, and tables are going fast!
Guitarist Josh Rubin has performed with such artists as George Coleman, David Grisman, Claudio Roditi, Grady Tate and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and is currently on the music faculty at Caldwell University. Pianist Mark Weber graduated from Eastman and the Manhattan School of Music and has worked extensively as an accompanist and sideman. He currently teaches music in the Warren Township public schools.
Music begins at 6:00 on Sundays with a $5 per person music charge and $25 food & drink minimum. Reservations are always recommended
